OutBreath is a community founded in 2009 in Boston for all LGBTQ people interested in meditation, mindfulness, and Buddhism. They work with meditation centers across all Buddhist lineages to create LGBTQ-affirming meditation classes, workshops, community events, and residential retreats.

Daily Zoom meditations led by Venerable Lama Konchok Sonam, the Spiritual Director of the Drikung Meditation Center and Meditation Sterling. Born in Lhasa, Tibet, and trained in the Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Lama Sonam ordained as a monk at 18. He has completed advanced retreats and received teachings from over 25 great masters, including Nyedak Rinpoche and Pachung Rinpoche. In 2003, he became Resident Lama in Boston, where he excels in meditation and Vajrayana methods.

Sravasti Abbey Buddhist Monastery

Lay Practitioner's Group

Sravasti Abbey, the first Tibetan Buddhist monastery for Western nuns and monks in the U.S., was established in Washington State by Bhikshuni Thubten Chodron in 2003. Whilst practicing in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition, Sravasti Abbey monastics ordain in the Dharmaguptaka Vinaya.

A variety of zendo-related events are hosted here. They are open to all and require no registration. (All times below are in Prague time).

Monday – Friday

  • 3:25 – 3:40 pm: Opening Zoom and settling into seat; three bells at 3:40 PM open zazen

  • 3:40 – 4:40 pm: Zazen (60-minute period with an interval as indicated below)

    • 3:40 – 4:03 pm: Zazen

    • 4:03 – 4:10 pm: Interval

    • 4:10 – 4:40 pm: Zazen

  • 4:40 pm: Zazen ends with time drum and han, then single bell followed by Robe Chant (shown in the Zoom chat window)

  • 4:40 – 4:55 pm: Short service including bowing & chanting*

The Zen Center of Los Angeles (ZCLA) is a Zen center founded by Hakuyu Taizan Maezumi in 1967 that practices in the White Plum lineage.

Live Programs

Upaya Institute and Zen Center, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, focuses on integrating Zen practice with social action, with traditional cultivation of wisdom and compassion.

Upaya  Upaya conducts donation-based live online programs (via Zoom) from their campus in Santa Fe, NM. Most programs are available for everyone, regardless of experience.

London Buddhist Vihara

​

The London Buddhist Vihara is one of the main Theravada Buddhist temples in the United Kingdom. The Vihara was the first Sri Lankan Buddhist monastery to be established outside Asia. Established in 1926, the Vihara is managed by the Anagarika Dharmapala Trust in Colombo.

Sunday Service Buddhist Meditation & Teaching with Geshe-la Phelgye
 

Everyone near or far who is interested is welcome to join our humble Sangha community. Each teaching is led by Venerable Geshe Phelgye, a Tibetan Buddhist lama who is known for promoting vegetarianism and humane treatment of animals, and for his work as a peace activist. Geshe Thupten Phelgye represents the Gelug tradition in the Tibetan Parliament in Exile.
